A long time ago at Internext, I met a couple of people who were in various Internet businesses including Psychic chat, and they were pretty successful. After a few drinks, the female half of the couple confessed to me that they also make money scamming people by saying she has cancer.
They would create websites with carefully worded content and photos. Sometimes the photos would be of her, sometimes of other random sick people. Some sites were elaborate and some were single pages, all with ways to donate money.
Her confession was laced with giggles, laughs, and general disdain for the "suckers" who donated. She even bragged that the donations paid for her house and car.
What a bitch.
