Don't try to feel better than every one else. I am sure that are lots of people who could say such things about products they use and others do not fully understand.

All of the provisions to manage domains/dbs/emails whatever is already built into the OS. I don't understand using a control panel to manage things that can already be managed directly from the OS.
I don't think I am better than anyone. If I don't know what I am doing, I hire a professional. I just had to add an electrical outlet and a new security light at my house. Since I know jack shit about wiring a house, I called an electrician and paid him to do it properly. That way I don't burn my house down.
My point is that if you don't know what you're doing, don't fuck with it. If you need a control panel, you should not be managing a server. I wonder how many of these half-ass, wanna-be admin's servers get compromised because they haven't the slightest idea what they are doing. If your server(s) are your livelihood, why not do your best to make sure things are done right?
Obviously none of this applies to shared hosting users who don't have the option to manage their own servers. This applies to those who need Direct Admin/Plesk/WHM to perform true administrative tasks.
