Along with glucosamine and chrondrotin I would add MSM.
I know previcox works well for dogs, but I have only given it to my arthritic old horse and it worked WONDERS for about 3 years before I had to put him down on the other side of 25. Before that he was on some sort of gel that had hylaronic (sp) acid - I want to say it was called Quest and maybe they make that for dogs too. It has all of the things I mentioned in it aside from the omega 3 I think.

my buddy is ~8 years old and weighs about the same. i'll add fish oil to his diet. not sure what MSM is. I'll check out those other meds too, not familiar with them. there are some spots around here i can take him swimming, i'llpursue how to do that.

i check into that cosequin. i've got him loaded up pretty good on natural glucosamine.
