If the word "Honky" was used on Hee Haw (I never heard it, but only watched a handful of episodes) it was 30-40 years ago.
You know who used the word Honky in EVERY episode back then? Fred in Sanford & Son. And he was the epitomy of Black. Not to mention every White character was made to look unhip, clueless and stupid. AND I LOVED THAT SHOW? Know why? I could see that it was comedy and satire and not a racist manifesto against Whites.
BTW: you can call me Honky or Cracker any time. It will actually make my day!
