These guys aren't just reviewing my site and saying they don't like it. They're saying we infect people's computers with viruses, spam, etc. They are going way beyond saying they don't care for our service into down right lying and defamation about our site/company.
In your analogy that would be like someone making a blog about Peter Pan Peanut Butter saying it gives you a disease when you eat it. If that peanut butter company found out about that, you think they wouldn't be going after them? Or should they be sitting at home making a review site about how crappy that review was? C'mon.
