crockett, you're missing my point. You CAN'T remove money. Oh, you can change the law. But people BREAK the law everyday...especially in politics.
What you are saying is that somehow, the crooks in Washington D.C. would suddenly become honest if they were only not tempted by money?
To me, that is backwards.
Can you imagine, for instance...if politicians REALLY did the things they promised during elections and actually had strong beliefs about things and wanted to SERVE the people instead of just gain power and money?
Those are the kind of people we need in office. But we never even get a chance to vote for those kind of people. The parties will NEVER allow anyone that rocks the boat to move up in the hierarchy to be in a position of power.
It's not the money that is the problem...you simply can't make laws and think it will go away. There are tons of laws already on the books. And for every dollar you see a politician get...I'll bet there are thousands more under the table that you will never know about.
It's the quality of people. Has nothing to do with a "third party". In my opinion there shouldn't be ANY party. Every candidate should have to stand on his own merit and have his own stance on the issues of the day.
Do I think that will happen? HELL NO.
The 2 party system is in power and ruling the country. They would never make any laws that make them less powerful. Never.
