Indeed and everything is designed so you will have a constant need to upgrade your device.
Updates that screw with the functionality of older generation devices by causing "random" freezes of the device..."unknown" errors that suddenly appear right after a product launch for example.
Apple is designed for consumers and they sure the fuck are very willing to consume.
