to anyone else who comes across this issue with a payment system that uses javascript, you can use jquery to edit the code for dropdowns. the w3schools (love that site!) system didn't work when I tried to incorporate elements into the existing code, but with jquery it's possible
I've spent too much time on this already so I've decided to hire someone, but I appreciate y'all taking the time to reply
