the only "empire" worth mentioning from Africa - and not from Middle east or North, Arab Africa- that comes to my mind is the Ethiopian empire.
the rest was just dancing around the fire and fighting with lions
anyway, it doesnt matter as none of these african "empires" had any real knowledge, sciene or tech that could be dagerous for European conquers from XV century and upwards.
once again - they were in technological shithole
