She is of the privileged gender so she can just claim she has mental problems and get a slap on the wrist. Mothers even murder their own children and basically get away with it. If her roommates are male then she can just say she was reacting to them being physically and emotionally abusive. Works almost every time. Men are not privileged so they cannot even use the victim defense.
