It sounds like Belichick wasn't involved, but if her were I would not be shocked and I think if Brady went to him and said, "If we deflate the balls slightly it gives me a small advantage gripping the ball especially in cold, shitty weather which could improve my accuracy and pass completions by 1%, do you think I should do it?" Belichick would have immediately said yes. This is the same guy who thought it would be a good idea to have people on his own sideline video taping the opponents coaches as they sent in signals to their teams.
