yep, I used to live in the foothills of South Carolina and the biggest lake there is Lake Hartwell. Also man-made.
Except you can't eat the fish there and it's not the best place to swim...it was built to support the nuclear plant there.
Lake Mead on the other hand, was built with the dam.
And as I understand it...the water that would normally be diverted from the Colorado River to Lake Mead has been diverted instead to take care of California.
I believe there is some kind of tri-state committee of Nev, Cali, and Arizona that makes that decision?
