This whole thing really jumped off about 2 weeks before Easter, when the Cartel ambushed the Police on the highway between Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara. 18 cops killed. Many more wounded. That then set the May 1st plan in place, which resulted in the Helicopter being shot down. And included the Cartel responding by setting buses and trucks on fire at 29 arteries of travel on the holiday weekend in and around Guadalajara. Also setting many gas stations and banks on fire in GDL and Puerto Vallarta.

The ranch raid is just the next step in the increased pace of the Military to regain the upper hand.

Will be some more firefights to come I'd imagine soon.
