When I lived in Daytona.. "Black College Reunion" was still a thing there for spring break.. Half the stores in the town would close up shop during that week, because of excessive crime.
Eventually it got to the point the city no longer wanted to host the event so they started bringing in excessive amounts of cops to make the event uncomfortable for those attending.
I remember that last year I lived in Daytona when BCR rolled around I got up on that Saturday morning (official start) to drive up to the store.. There was a cop standing at every block on A1A on the main drag and not a black person to be seen. They all went to Miami that year.. It was kinda surreal as the town was dead as fuck all the closed up shops and cops fucking everywhere.
The moral of the story.. I don't like racism, but I'm also not blind to the fact that black people often bring problems on themselves. You can't act like a bunch of hoodlums and not expect to be stereotyped as a bunch of hoodlums. It's always the same story at every major black event like this. There is always shit loads of crime and the host cities eventually get tired of it and push them away..
