Our brains don't do that at all. For the most part, our brains are working overtime telling us that we are funnier than we are, smarter than we are, wittier than we are and more attractive than we are and better mates than we are. The fact that our brain is doing that is what increases our chances of finding a better mate. The only real honest feedback is from the world around us. When those things don't square well with each other, the individual tends to act out and blame others, become resentful towards others, tell himself others "don't get it" etc etc etc etc.

The truth of us in that respect is that we are insanely poor at assessing and judging ourselves and tend to work overtime to judge and assess others. This is another evolutionary trait which popped up with the rise of large cities and sedentary and agrarian societies, to keep people in line.

When it comes to mating, our efforts are the sum of our opportunities. Men and women have a sex drive. We think about sex constantly throughout the day. A person with bad genes has more opportunities with a similar person. A person with great genes has more opportunities with everyone. An ugly person can possess some traits that women find attractive and which tie in directly into the safety and survival of offspring (strong, fighter, leader, smart, outstanding social skills etc) and pull a hot woman. But that would be the exception, not the rule.

My point was simply that beauty is not some objective notion being shaped by greedy womens magazines and Hollywood as the hoards of fat, cunty feminist twats have been saying for decades. Beauty and even a shared understanding of aesthetic beauty are build into our genes and are generally universal. So just proclaiming a mentally retarded person "beautiful" won't change that simple genetic fact. All that WILL change is that people will pause a little longer and dig a little deeper for a socially acceptable response... which is most typically what happens in testing unconscious bias.
