Just down the road from where I live, the Wisconsin Glacier stopped advancing about 30,000 years ago. It left behind an escarpment that gradually became Niagara Falls. There's a place along the Niagara River near Brock's Monument at Queenston where you can actually see where the glacier stopped, began receding and formed the original Niagara Falls (it's several miles from where the present-day falls is located). I do a lot of photography in the area and know it well.
30,000 years ago - man had no impact on the stoppage of the Wisconsin Glacier. It was all a part of a natural cycle.
And that's how I tend to regard all the hype and hyperbole about global warming alarmists.
Can we take steps to cut back on pollution to improve the planet? Sure...I'm all for it. But I don't believe for one second that man's influence on the environment is significant enough to trigger global warming. I tend to think the people pushing the panic button have either a vested interest in heightening people's fear...or using it as a diversionary tactic with another agenda in mind.
