Yeah that would be the big problem - she got a scholarship that was for disadvantaged minorities, she lied on her job application, she lied in the course of her NAACP duties.
Just because she is extra committed, and claims to be "fighting racism" doesn't make all that lying excusable. If you want to fight racism against AA folks as a white person, you should probably go and ask an AA organization how you should go about that, not try to take on their identity.
You can fight for wounded veterans and not be one, but should you tell everyone you are a wounded veteran? No, of course not. Same thing.
