Because the only president material people are used to are ones who pluck the people like chickens, break every single promise they make, send off people to get killed to make them money, increasingly ignore privacy, lie their asses off and only give a shit about answering to their puppet master (big corps & the fed).

I'd be all for someone running for president who is anything but 'president material'
