Dinner was kinda awkward. Though i am a bit dickish here, i am super cordial and polite and well mannered. I don't really fuck around in other peoples homes. I respected the fact that he invited me to his home with his wife and child to have dinner and wouldn't do anything to make that weird.

Basically, we got to his house, already our heads are spinning with one "what the fuck" experience after another with him. I mean seriously, it would have been less awkward taking that String Emil guy to Catholic Mass with the Pope than spending an afternoon in public with Paul talking about how awesome he is at the top of his voice, only pausing to leer at a girl walking by and saying how he'd love to rub his face in her crotch at the top of his lungs.

By the time we were at his house, we were already wanting get back to Prague, have a little fun and move on. We just wanted to be polite and get it over with.

We get to his house which was a kind of cute little brick cottage. I think there were 2 small downstairs bedrooms,, one as an office and an upstairs sort of loft (i didnt see upstairs). It was small, but kinda nice.

First, he shows me his online content store. Most don't remember, but content almost overnight went from being an expensive commodity to almost free thanks to J$tyles "Content Blowout" promotion. Paul and AaronM and him fought an epic battle over this, resulting in Pauls creation of bargainbasementcontent.com or whatever the hell it was.

Anyway, he's showing me his online store, his sales etc to impress me. I'm asking a few questions and with everything else, starting to get an idea of his basic financial picture. The guy who would have everyone think he was super successful was basically living off $4-$5,000.00 USD in total income per month. By this point, he wasn't shooting really, he was coasting off what he had already shot in the past.

*NOTE: In one thread on this forum, i actually got him to admit that a good month for him was 5k USD.

Now, i am all for anyone that does an honest days work. I have nothing but respect for a kid in McDonalds that's on time, does a great job, even if he's the guy mopping the floor. I was brought up commercial fishing in the Bering Sea and appreciate work ethic. But what went thought my mind was "holy fuck, I just spent $8,000.00 at the Intercontinental in Berlin". The point being that there were a lot of companies at the time (particularly before) doing 7-8 figures a month. Ifriends was doing 9 figures a year before anyone knew what live chat was. I always thought I was just a nobody. Literally, I thought everyone was more successful than me. Just because he lived modestly, didn't mean he didn't have 6,000,000.00 USD in the bank. I was fucking stunned to realize he made less than he could make at any normal job as an adult. But the way he talked on forums was that all the biggest print and video and content guys came to him. Knowing what the top shooters made.. even a few from St Petersburg, it seemed safe to assume he was doing extremely well for himself. As it turned out, it was all pure bullshit. He was just an old, broke and seriously disturbed guy.

But there was a really weird part to this. He had recently launched his discount content store and he had a little audio bell sound that played every time he got a sale. First, he just showed me it and made it "ding" sound and showed me that every time he made money he got to hear that sound. Whatever, right? We all refresh our stats every 5 minutes, we all get excited about the little things and so on. So we move to the living room, my head is swimming in "what the fuck, where are we, what are we doing, seriously, how the fuck did i end up on this guys couch?", the girl i am with is totally speechless and uncomfortable and he offers us beer. I didn't drink. She didn't drink. We declined, he grabbed a beer and starts drinking. He then announces a big football/soccer match is on and puts it on. We all just kinda sat there in awkward silence as he drank and watched the game. He tried to pass it off as him not being interested in dealing with us, so this is how he decided to treat guests in his home. The truth was just that we were completely speechless and even worse... we hoped he wouldn't talk.

... Then, that little bell went off. He lights up like a kid at Christmas and runs to his office. He comes back grinning ear to ear. I'm thinking he made a $500.00 content sale. He announces "another sale! i love that sound" or something similar. I ask him "How much" and he tells me something. it was like $9.00 (the bargain content store). So i'm thinking "ok, whatever, good for him.. he made a sale. sales are good. sales make me happy too". Anyway, like an hour later, "DING!"... he jumps up again like a kid at Christmas again, runs into his office comes back out excited and announces he made another $9.00. By this time, i'm only speaking Russian and we are just basically saying "are we on a hidden camera show? do you think its a Russian show or Czech show... will we be on Czech tv and not know it" etc. and we just finished our food and said we had to get going.

So for myself, i was sort of really embarrassed because I was telling this girl that worked for me, essentially the head of operations, "hey, this guy is legit, we need to go meet him and see if we can get this organized and do the shoots there".. she meets him and basically is saying to me "look motherfucker, you brought me to this beautiful country to spend it with post soviet town with this disheveled lunatic who offered to fuck me for 1000.00... whats going on? You're slipping!"

And remember.... even read that viliage idiot thread. This is a guy talking about how much his time is worth. How expensive he is. How much he makes. "why would i waste my time with you" and he's been doing that for years.

I agreed to shoot these solo girl packages with him for $2500 each (Eva was going to shoot them because according to him, his time was too valuable), doing them in groups of 10. He's at the same time, getting excited about $10.00 sales. This guy admitted to living on 5k a month, I personally saw proof of it and that his small operation was imploding around him. At the same time (and when i met him), he talks about how valuable his time is and that he can't be bothered with $25,000.00 6-7 day photo shoots. On this forum, he talked like he wouldn't get out of bed unless unless someone volunteered to scatter $100,000 on the floor to soften his landing. It was super surreal and even his replies in that thread were nonsensical and highlight how bizarre he is.
