Craving a cosmopolitan or quick margarita? Soon, that liquid fix will only be a packet away now that the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau has approved Palcohol, a form of powdered alcohol.
"It sounds good ... sounds like easy access ... sounds pretty good right now," said Phoenix resident Craig Jackson when asked whether he would buy the product.
Convenience is exactly what led the Phoenix-based company to come up with the product.
A YouTube video, posted by the company creator Mark Phillips, explains what first sparked the idea.
"When I hike, kayak, backpack or whatever, I like to have a drink when I reach my destination. And carrying liquid alcohol and mixers to make a margarita for instance was totally impractical," Phillips said. "So that's why I created Palcohol."
The recipe for a drink is pretty simple. One packet equals one shot. You pour the contents into 6 ounces of water and stir.
