Flags represent what they are meant to represent. If some people misinterpret them or use for wrong purposes it does not change the meaning of the flag.
If I create a flag with sun and clouds and say it represents nice summer days and some people take that flag and says it represents something else - surely it makes them ignorant. Or if they take it and use it in the name of killing - it does not make that flag a bad symbol. It just means that some moron wrongly used it in the name of killing.
