Regardless of how you feel about the length of the sentence, I hope it's not lost on everyone that the article has glaring errors in speech as most reports on this topic do.

This teacher did not "have sex with" a student. She MOLESTED an underage student. I agree that it's not pedophilia, but it is only possible for consenting ADULTS to engage in "sex" with each other. This constant blurring of the language done for the sake of titillation and on-screen real estate should not be ignored.
