Reddit, one of the larger social networks is imploding

A few weeks ago there was a big turmoil about many subs on the site being censored and banned. It's caused a large ripple and an exodus of many uses to a different site.

Then yesterday, one of the key admins was fired with out notice and no one had the ability to step into this person's shoes. The admin in question, was in charge being the go between for Reddit's popular AMA's ( ask me anything ).

There were many popular subs which depended on this person to set up dates, times and be the in between for the countless high profile people whom have done AMA. With out this person the AMA's can not function and therefore all scheduled ones had to be canceled.

There is rumors that this person was fired because of a recent AMA with Jessie Jackson which went about as anyone should suspect would go.. People asked him questions he didn't want to answer.. The next day this admin gets fired with no notice..

Due to this and generally a felling that Reddit as a corporation pretty much ignores it's user base and its many volunteer mods many of the top subreddits have gone private, effectively shutting them down..

Ironically it was sort of the same thing which gave rise to Reddit from the ashes of Digg. digg pissed off their user base and caused a mass exodus to Reddit,, seems Reddit is in the mist of doing the same..

Here is a good link for those interested..

Kinda sucks as I have a few nice traffic subs over there which allow me to funnel some very targeted traffic. I hope the management can salvage the sinking ship, but they seem very quiet so far..

TL;DR. It appears Jessie Jackson has killed Reddit...
