The suspected gunman who was killed during a shootout with former CNN reporter Chuck de Caro has reportedly been identified by police as Tomorio Walton.
Walton, 27, allegedly accosted de Caro's wife, former CNN anchor Lynne Russell, in the parking lot of an Albuquerque, New Mexico, motel on Tuesday night, before firing on the couple inside their hotel room, according to The Albuquerque Journal.

Russell said De Caro exchanged gunfire with Walton, who was shot multiple times and later died at a local hospital. De Caro was shot three times himself, but is expected to survive.
NBC News reported that Walton was a parole absconder from Tennessee, but his prior criminal history is not yet known. Calls for comment made by The Huffington Post to the Albuquerque Police Department were not immediately returned Friday.
De Caro and Russell both have licenses to carry concealed weapons.
Albuquerque police officer Fred Duran told CNN the investigation is ongoing, but no charges are expected to be filed.
