I can't help but consider that history in understanding why the elected officials of South Carolina decided it's best not to fly that flag on government property over a Civil war monument, which is staying.

The thing is that minority of pro flag people see it as pro racism. Majority of them see it in a positive way, as pro south, pro respect to veterans etc etc.
Yet media is telling people what they must be offended by.
