i carefully read the OP and the linked articles.
those people are not helping, they are convoluting the issue(s), such as claiming the symbolism of the flag is related to black on black crime. reality doesn't work that way, we all know there are no panaceas. and resolving one issue amongst many is a step in the right direction, not the wrong direction because it didn't solve every issue.
and they are misrepresenting history, such as claiming the SOuth had a right to secede on account of the USA "seceding" Britain. the fact is megyn kelly is no historian, she proofs that by her getting it all wrong in her article, first and foremost by completely leaving out the States Declaration of Causes. But even worse, she only focuses on a moment in the history of that flag, waxing past the flag's use as a symbol of hate beginning in the 1950s.
