They are saving face -- why would this work out better than the nuclear non proliferation deals with North Korea?
- Iran has indigenous uranium mines in Iran.
- Iran has a proven history of covert nuclear activities.
- Who really knows what stockpiles of weapons grade uranium or plutonium are hidden in Iran -- only what the Iranians admit to.
This is another Colin Powell at the UN moment waiting to happen.
The real problem is: What is to stop Iran from just barring the International Atomic Energy Agency access and having acrimony at the UN while the remaining centrifuges are used for weapons grade enrichment buying time with procedural belligerent argument?
I don't think that if Iran had nuclear weapons they would use them -- they would be turned into a glass parking lot and they know it. However, Iran is the supplier to various militant, resistance and terrorist groups and they may use dirty bombs not only in the Middle East but in Jihad on Western Civilization. The "nothing to lose mindset" or "the suicide bomber" mentality ...
I am glad I am not 20-years-old facing a future like this
