I agree with the common sense, we may not be on the menu, I like to be sure I don't even have an encounter where possible.

For me personally I am always aware of the following :

Steer clear of fish in the water ***especially*** if they are jumping out of the water

Steer clear of river mouths

Steer clear when a lake is opened up to drain into the ocean

No dusk / dawn surf/swim
