As you said: Ratings.
And all of the airtime they are giving him is nothing BUT critical of him. And every thing that they ask any of the other Republican candidates is something to give THEM a chance to be critical of him as well.
If the same exact thing were being done to you on GFY...you would call it cyber-bullying and/or trolling.
So no...the media isn't trying to do Trump any favors at all. But they are helping him because of the public backlash as more and more people see the media for what they are in this whole affair.
Do you think that Walter Cronkite, or David Brinkley, or any of the real journalists who used to be news anchors would have wasted one minute of air time asking one Republican candidate how he "felt" about another one? Much less ALL the air time while ignoring actual major news stories?
Hell no.
But this is what our society is being presented with as "news" these days: A media that doesn't report, but instead tries to shape the news.
