It is just a setting. If the sponsor wants they can send you an email for applying which will let you know that your application is being reviewed and they can send you an email accepting you to the program. Most of the time the complaint is the other way around which says that we are sending too many emails out
...Don't usually hear that we aren't sending enough emails out.
