The police officer involved in Donny's - Capt. Lewis McElfresh - waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Why would ANYONE ever do that? Innocent or guilty, if you can prevent a case from going to trail why wouldn't you?

Here is where the crazy comes in....

McElfresh is charged with five felonies ? burglary, arranging a meeting with a minor for the purpose of immoral acts, unlawful sex with a minor, child endangerment and providing a firearm to a convicted felon ? and misdemeanor indecent exposure and annoying or molesting a minor.

Most of the charges involve a single incident in which he allegedly masturbated while watching another defendant, Donny Pauling, have sex with a minor. Pauling is facing three criminal cases for sexual acts against minor teen girls, including the incident involving McElfresh.

"Lewis McElfresh loves (the minor), and he would never do anything to harm her," Santana said Thursday.

Wait, what? He "loves" the minor? That's a special kind of crazy right there.
