got news for ya the USA was never a "Democracy" the word doesnt appear in the federalist papers, the constitution or the declaration of independence. matter of fact the founding father knew that Democracy was just another word for mob rule.
The USA is a Republic...the one mentioned in the pledge to the flag as in "and to the republic for which it stands."
Technically it is a constitutional republic.
