Could it be that there are too old and don't want to work?
...and as population increases even with the same or lower unemployed percentages it can mean more are out of work as the gross pool is larger.
Face the facts that more and more moderate and even skilled jobs are gone and will not come back. Many highly coveted middle class jobs are being outsourced and automated out never to come back.
Think it's bad now, let's see what it will be like in 20 years...
