Not long ago everyone was crowing about the Republican "clown car" and how Hillary was going to march into the White House.
Now it looks like the Republicans have all the energy (thanks to Trumps candidacy) and the Democrats have the choices of an old woman who may have to drop out, an old man who is a socialist, or an old man who had to drop out of the 1988 Presidential race in shame over plagiarizing other people's speeches.
The unfortunate key word for the Dems is "old". Bad contrast after the young Barrack Obama energized them for the last 8 years.

But at the same time, Trump could cause the entire Republican party to fall apart. If Trump doesn't get the nomination, he will take with him a significant percentage of people with him that would ensure the Republican party does not win back the White House. At the same time, if Trump gets the nomination a large percent of independents might not vote for him because he is too far out there.
I have to admit right now the Republican party is on fire (and I don't mean this in a good way - more like they are constantly in the news). The only thing you read about in the press about the Democrats is this email thing.
