Here's why.
A fully compliant POSIX Unix under the hood.
Better memory management.
Better Productivity Apps
All Adobe Apps run better on OS X than on Windows
Microsoft Office for Mac is better than the Windows version.
If I want to ssh to a server I just open a terminal window and do it - no shitty Putty required.
It comes with included Apps.
If it's the iMac then it's the smallest form factor computer you can buy.
The iMac inbuilt monitor is better than any 3rd party PC monitor I have seen or used.
It has a FREE and complete development environment that can be used to create apps for sale on the App Store - the most profitable App store there is.
Want me to go on ?
The Mac is just better than the alternatives, especially if you're a developer.
Go to your windows machine and compile ffmpeg with flaac support and MP4Box - unless you spend a day installing kludge based development tools, you can't without a lot of effort - you need to use a binary which may or may not suit your needs.
Got the Bash shell on your PC ? Does the Windows machine run MarsEdit for managing multiple blogs ?
There's no comparison.
(Yes I have two Windows machines and several Macs so I can share an informed opinion)

Hmm don't need any of that on a daily basis. Well except putty but I just open that up and stick it in the background
