That's terrible but I would would say she was "apparently healthy." I've known a few. Many cancers (stomach, liver, pancreas - generally the guts) can be asymptomatic and go undetected until they spread to areas that shut the system down. Many of those cancers have a 1-5 month life expectancy on average - but some go much quicker. Once it makes the kidneys or liver (bile ducts) go out of whack, you're done. She may have had it for quite some time, but it wouldn't have been detected save for a body scan.
