Just got word that our daughter's on the way to the cop shop - they caught the scumbag!

Light on details at this point - we'll hear more later.

Apparently her carrier (Rogers) was able to pinpoint the last location the cellphone was turned on...and notified police. They went to the address and interviewed some guy (who lived with his mother). He was uncooperative, but told police he didn't have the phone. He claimed a buddy had it.

But his mother promised police she would work on it and contact them. That's the last we heard until the news this evening that the thief had been caught. Sounds like he may have ratted out his pal.
