I don't know how old you are, but the Carter years were the worst. Double-digit unemployment and interest rates. Terrible inflation. And I still remember my father cursing until he could find a gas station that actually had gas. That's right, there was gas-rationing, with the green, yellow and red flags at gas stations.
I'm 51 and I remember that like it was yesterday.
