Yep but it's easier with a gun. That's the point.
Someone going on a rampage randomly killing people with a knife is much easier to stop.
Australia decided after a massacre at Port Arthur to introduce strict gun control and while it's not perfect we haven't had a mass shooting like it since and gun related homicide has dropped a whopping 82% over that time period.
