I don't recall anyone around here defending the Vietnam War policy. The Korean War was a UN war technically. Both Vietnam and Korea were part of the cold-war between the US Russia and China -- all 3 share the blame (or blame each other).
As far as Japan and WW2. The Japanese Asian attacked the Manchurian Chinese Asian and the Korean Asian and the Filipino Asian as well as any other Indochina Asian that they could attack to expand their Empire. The Japanese Asian killed more Asians than the US did in WW2.
The Japanese Empire also started hostilities with the USA by attacking the US Fleet at Perl Harbor while everyone was sleeping on Sunday morning.
Fortunately 9/11 has not resulted in WW3 (yet).
None of this has anything to do with the two news reporters that were shot and killed today.

Oh, and in the USA many get wasted and party with alcohol, drugs and GUNS. There is a body count every weekend. But that is not the case here so that is really immaterial. This is another isolated nut-case that had a firearm to kill with.
If he wasn't a nut-case he would have been more rational and not pulled the trigger. If you took away all the firearms in the US killers would find other ways to kill. In 15 seconds a man with 2 combat knives could kill 2 civilians. If you think about it police make no effort to disarm people threatening them with a knife they just shoot them. So, would a pedestrian disarm a man wielding a knife? Most would just run. So the argument that if he hadn't had a gun in the first place no one would have died ( in this case ) is meaningless.
This was a double homicide not a mass killing and if it been 3 street people in Chicago no one would even give a fuck. It would not have made the national news
