Because it gives you something to relate to and chat about why you are waiting in line at Starbucks with the other peoples whose batteries went to shit on their Iphones when they updated OsX.
You can say something like. Yeah, I updated to that OS X # too on my mac and now my Itunes wont play my Beck albums anymore. The weird part is that my Mumfurd & Sons stuff still plays perfect.
