That policy is causing all the violence. And we now have more of our own citizens incarcerated than any country in the history of the world.
It's no different than what happened with alcohol prohibition. Just as bloody. Making organized crime wealthy. And all for absolutely no reason at all.
That border was never a problem until the War On Drugs. And even then it wasn't a problem until the U.S. sent the DEA down to Columbia and destroyed the cocaine cartel there.
That left a vacuum that the Mexicans filled.
Then the shit hit the fan.
Make cocaine legal. Let full grown adults put what they choose to into their own bodies. We aren't children. And the govt. ain't our daddy.
Just like alcohol prohibition...once drug prohibition is lifted, the border problem goes away. Just like it wasn't a problem for 200 years before.

No matter what we make legal, Mexico is going to supply it.
Get rid of Sanctuary City Status and enforce the law that says no one can employ an illegal immigrant, period. Then stop all the social programs they leach off of. They will leave in droves!
I do agree that our prisons are too full, I saw something on tv this morning about the prohibition. There's a couple bars in LA that were speak easy's I've been to them, kinda cool they are still around

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that
