It's purely political of course. But it is a part of the Democrat Party base.

Honestly...if I were a black person I'd be starting a Black People's Party. And no, not a Black Panther Party or any of that other nonsense. But a party that sane black leaders could form and start running for office.

Of course the Democrat Party would shit itself if that happened. But I don't see that the Democrats or Republicans have done much of anything for black people since the 1960's. Matter of fact, most policies have been centered around entitlements and welfare.
I think black people want a "hand up, not a handout".
