The USA accepted millions of immigrants. Ellis Island was built to sort out the masses that came to our shores from Europe and other countries.

I am one of those 100 Million. One of my grandfathers arrived here alone only 10 years old with a suitcase and 11 dollars cash -- he had a home waiting: He could sleep on his cousin's floor with earlier arrivals from his village near Minsk. They finally let him in -- he gave them a German sounding name as his chances of entry were better than being from Russia -- back then the USA needed the immigrant so the USA was more accommodating.
