I totally agree. There's no place for an attitude of entitlement in a country that has adopted you. If any of my family were here and acted like that, I'd punch them in the head.
Funnily enough, people don't act like this towards foreigners. At least not that I've seen. There's varying degrees of tolerance (and intolerance) in much of the GCC states. In Saudi for example there's no pork, no alcohol and you can't even mention Christianity or any other religion without a very possible chance of going to jail.
Just off the cost of Saudi, a tiny island, Bahrain (a GCC country) has pubs galore, supermarkets sell pork products, women can drive ad they cater to all religious denominations with several churches and temples.
In much the same way that these countries expect expats to follow the law of the land, anyone not taking their oaths of allegiance to the adopted countries seriously should have their citizenship revoked and be sent packing.
