Well it is a fact that the iraq war turned that whole region into one big clusterfuck, a war the people got suckered into 'accepting' because of lies.
Saddam had control, but was a threat to the USD because he wanted to start trading oil in Euros instead of dollars. So he had to go, and his oil fields went to US corporations.
Khadaffi had control, but he was very close to creating a currency with other african nations:

So ofcourse the refugee problems' roots are there. If the west would just stay out of there, keep doing business with Saddam, and let the radical muslims keep fucking up their own countries, we wouldn't have these waves of immigrants right now.
