Will sex bots make real women obsolete?
I don't think saying "women will become obsolete" is the right way to phrase it. It will however change how people view power within relationships. If a man has the options to either get married and surrender the entirety of his sex life to a real woman that stops putting out have they get married, or settling with a realistic sex bot, it will clearly change how much neglect men will be willing to put up with. So I do think that people that neglect their partner, will have to change their ways, or end up alone. This will mean that women won't be able to use sex as a weapon like they often do.
Assuming that the sex bot was good enough to pass for a human, I would assume that sex bots will become normal for men. Just like vibrators have become normal for women. A lot of men are already opting out of dating as it is. It only makes since that this will become more normal.
Eventually robots, and computers will replace everyone in every aspect of our lives. They will replace us in our jobs, and eventually in our social lives. Kids are already often being raised by computers, and television already. People can't even make relationships work out now, when they don't have the option to use a sex bot.
Throw in an artificial uterus, and you have a way for a man to start a family, with no fear of ever losing his child, or being cheated on, or being forced to pay his ex money every month. Our current system is just making relationships with real humans into a liability, with little actual reward compared to going it alone.
Of course people get offended at the idea that they can be replaced by a machine, but realistically all we are as humans, is really just imperfect robots made out of meat. I am sure there will still be people that prefer to date people, but being in a relationship with a robot will become normal, just as being gay has been normalized within our society. What a person uses for their sexual pleasure is really no one's business.
