:mad Spam Referral hits increasing bounce rates

Hi all: Moz has a nice write-up for solving referral hits from sites like floating-share-buttons, success-seo, get-free-social-traffic using htaccess file. I tried this method to no avail..

The hits show up in Google Analytics and causes the bounce rate to be higher than it really is. You can go to the trouble of filtering out these referrals in Google Analytics but this is too much effort since the spamming is very dynamic.

I used to run awstats and other analytics off my web server but stopped because Google Analytics seems to satisfy my needs at this moment. I don't know if my web server is actually getting a hit or this is a google analytics issue.

Has anybody found a solution for this problem?
