Yea that's definitely not happening. The only reason microsoft bought Minecraft was its popularity. It's popularity is due to all the people playing it online and enticing others to buy and play it.
Minecraft is one of the biggest success stories when it comes to direct correlation of youtube videos to sales.
Another similar story would be of DayZ... It was a mod that some devloper made for an already existing war simulator. Arma. Arma had been around for years but no one really knew about the game... like it was literally nothing. For a couple years. Then when people started making videos about the modded version that came out years after Arma's initial release, It went viral. In both the youtube videos and the sales of this game. Overnight Arma went from a unknown military simulator to a title that no serious gamer went without.
Wouldn't have happened without the youtube gaming community.
