Nope, you are wrong here. The GMO products have always been a barely legal thing there. Every product sold in Russia must to be labeled if it contains GMO, so the consumers could decide on their own if they want to poison themselves and bear fat and ugly children-mutants or stay healhty. Now they are going to make it completely illegal and I totally support such a decision. My family is used to eat organic food only. Believe me or not, but I've gain about 20+ kilograms when I've been to the USA, because usually it was very hard to find a healthy food there. I know that's is an echo of the Cold War when your government was looking for an easier and cheapest way to feed the population in case of real war. That's how all that shitty GMO products have came to your market.
As about the alcohol consumption. It's not as much here as ass-clowns like Muad'Dib may think. Much less than in Czech Republic or Great Britain for example. Also it has dropped on 25% within only the last 2 years:
